Ciara has worked in public schools, private health clinics, community settings, and non-profit agencies, providing counseling, advocacy, and support to children, adolescents, and adults. Her mental health experience includes intervention for anxiety, depression, stress, childhood trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, anger, work-life-school balance, and more. Ciara also has a special interest in supporting athletes overcome sports performance anxiety and mental barriers, building confidence and managing stress both in and outside of the arena.
Ciara's practice offers a welcoming, non-judgmental space where she collaborates with you to navigate difficult experiences. She helps you build on your strengths, empowering you to cope with challenges while honouring your identity and values.
Ciara draws on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), attachment theory, and mindfulness-based exercises. She works with you to explore your concerns and determine the most effective path forward. Her background includes supporting individuals with their mental health who also have ADHD, FASD, ODD, ASD, CP, Type 1 diabetes, addictions, learning disabilities, and more.
Born and raised in Calgary, Ciara lived on Vancouver Island during the pandemic to be closer to family before returning to Calgary. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, and horseback riding.
